PSHE - A World Without Judgement - British Values

 Today we started our PSHE unit A World Without Judgement and look closer at British Values.

We talked about different values such as compassion, respect, aspiration, resilience and many more. We also looked at different religions around the UK, as well as ‘communities’ with the UK such as sports groups, school, scouts and guides, church and how the values for these groups would differ from each other. 

After we looked at the 5 British Values, we started talking about stereotypes and how sometimes we have negative ideas about certain groups or people. We spent some time discussing how to challenge stereotypes and why it’s important to not make generalisations about groups or individuals just because of looks, beliefs, religion, disability etc…
