PSHE - Keeping and Staying Safe - Water Safety

Image
Today we began our 1decision unit in PSHE - Water Safety. This goes well with Year 6 having their swimming lessons this term too.  We shared ideas and what we know about danger - drawing some danger signs that we already know. We discussed why danger signs are often yellow and black or red and white. We then had 4 signs to look at - we talked about where we might find these signs and the impact if the signs were ignored. Some very sensible thoughts and ideas.

Last Geography lesson in Primary School

Image
What a sad day as the children will never be taught Geography again by Mrs Gregory. 😰 Today, we recapped using six-figure grid references using stepping stones over a river. A quick recap was needed to remind the children to break the square into tenths or think of the number as a decimal number to find the six numbers from the map.  A great lesson. Mrs Gregory will miss you all.

Fiver Challenge - selling day 1

Image
Our Year 6s worked really hard in preparing their stalls throughout Thursday and Friday. From 2:45-3:30 the children sold their items and manned their stalls brilliant. They showed brilliant teamwork, mathematical ability and selling nouse. A huge thanks to all of the parents that came out and supported our pupils. They will go away next week and work on their business plans and analyse their efforts to sell again on Thursday.

Art: Thursday 7th July 2022: to create a shoe out of clay

As part of the Famous Fashions unit,Year 6 used a combination of air dry clay and air dough to create a mini converse shoe. They enjoyed using these two different types of clay. Some children used felt tips to add  colour to the white air dough. I’m really impressed with their designs.
